MCHS is seeking a dynamic, proactive, highly collaborative, and energetic individual to help us advance our mission to lead, strengthen and support our finance team.
Requirements
- Lead daily accounting operations including accounts payable/receivable, cash and investment reconciliations, and general ledger transactions
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, reports, and budgets with precision and insight
- Manage grant and clinical trial budgets, ensuring accurate tracking and reporting of revenue and expenditures
- Collaborate on the development of organizational, program, and grant budgets
- Oversee employee expense reporting systems and provide staff training
- Support audit processes and ensure timely, accurate documentation
- Prepare annual 1099 forms and assist with the 990 Tax Return
- Manage annual charity solicitation license renewals
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and nonprofit-specific legal requirements
- Identify and implement improvements in accounting processes and internal controls
- May supervise or mentor junior accounting staff
- Work with CFO to develop and prepare financial statements, including Statement of Financial Position, Statement of Activities, analysis of variances from budget for special projects
- Prepare financial information for other purposes (such as regulatory requirements, grant reporting and reimbursement requests) in coordination with other staff.
- Process transaction and journal entries related to special projects and monthly reconcile grants management and information to the general ledger for all special projects.
- Analyze financial data and provide budgeting and forecasting support for special projects.
- Monitor compliance with grants and other agreements and laws and regulations that apply to special projects (some projects have federal funding components).
- Stay up to date regarding news, data and trends in finance.
