Job Description
The Medical Lab Scientist II, Hematology will perform careful and accurate scientific work on specimens from patients, utilizing both manual and automated methods. This role involves interpreting test results, troubleshooting equipment, and providing technical assistance to medical laboratory staff. Regular maintenance and calibration of instruments are also essential.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science or equivalent
- Medical Lab Scientist (ASCP) registration or equivalent certification
- Greater than one year experience as a medical laboratory scientist
- Proven experience in interpretation and evaluation of laboratory testing
- Effective troubleshooting skills for both ongoing instrumentation maintenance and troubleshooting
- Light to moderate physical effort
