Manufacturing Test Engineer - Automation

Meta's AR/VR organization is seeking a Manufacturing Test Engineer - Automation to drive the development and deployment of hardware test systems with manufacturing partners and third-party integrators. The ideal candidate will have expertise in industrial automation, material handling, and conveyor integration, with advanced proficiency in SolidWorks or AutoCAD and hands-on experience programming industrial robots.

Requirements

• Design and deploy comprehensive automation solutions for test lines, integrating industrial robots with complex conveyor architectures
• Create detailed layouts and specify critical components, including motors, sensors, and structural supports
• Lead the design and optimization of PLC logic and motion control to maximize throughput and accommodate test flow/process requirements
• Conduct bottleneck analyses and cycle-time simulations to validate that the physical transport system meets or exceeds production targets
• Lead the onsite installation and mechanical commissioning phase, ensuring automation solution technical capability and operation performance
• Document all system architectures, including electrical schematics, mechanical BOMs, and logic flowcharts for long-term maintenance
