Software Engineer, Android

Meta is seeking a Software Engineer, Android to build technologies that help people connect, find communities, and grow businesses. The successful candidate will research, design, develop, build, and test systems-level software to deliver Instagram experiences on Android-based devices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree (or foreign degree equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Software, Computer Engineering, or Physics or a related field
• 6 years of experience in the job offered or in a computer-related occupation
• Coding in an industry-standard language (e.g., Kotlin, Java)
• Android application development using Android SDK
• Software development tools: code editors (Android Studio) and revision control systems (e.g., Git or Perforce)
• Linux, UNIX, or other Unix-like operating systems, including file manipulation and command-line usage
• Building highly scalable, high-performance solutions
• Embedded systems development, including application development and debugging
• Setting technical direction for a team, driving consensus, and enabling successful cross-functional partnerships
• Building maintainable and testable codebases, including API design and unit testing techniques
• Multithreaded programming and mobile memory management
