Paraprofessional

Provides academic and behavioral support to students in grades 1-12, ensures physical and emotional well-being, and contributes to a positive school environment.

Requirements

• Provides positive approaches and structure in the guidance and direction of students.
• Monitors students to ensure compliance with classroom and school procedures.
• Communicates with teachers and parents regarding student academic, behavioral/emotional needs or progress.
• Provides assistance to teachers with classroom preparation and subject delivery.
• Reports inconsistencies, conflicts, or problematic situations to the appropriate teacher, supervisor, or Principal.
• Escorts and monitors students between Longmore Academy and other campus facilities.
• Assists students with communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
• Provides de-escalation responses to students as necessary, and leads others in following appropriate response methods.
• Maintains the safety and cleanliness of the school environment.
• Conducts student searches each morning and otherwise as necessary.
