Environmental Health & Safety Specialist responsible for reducing risks, ensuring regulatory compliance, and fostering a culture of safety throughout the organization.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Health, Environmental Science, or related field
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in an EHS role with 3 of those years being in the life sciences industry
- Strong understanding of OSHA regulations, EPA guidelines, and other relevant safety standards at the State and local levels
- Familiarity with hazardous materials, chemical safety, laboratory safety, and environmental management systems (e.g., ISO 14001)
- Knowledge of risk assessment techniques and incident investigation methods
- Excellent organizational and record keeping skills and ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
