Founding AI Engineer (on-site)

MLabs is seeking a Founding AI Engineer to build the core of their AI-powered hiring platform, focused on detecting and preventing AI-assisted fraud and accurately measuring candidate skills. The role involves architecting systems for candidate behavior analysis, dynamic challenges, and providing insights to outperform traditional interviews. The engineer will be onsite in New York.

Requirements

• Experience building production AI systems and LLM-powered applications
• Strong foundation in RAG architectures, prompt engineering, and AI pipeline design
• Hands-on experience with model context protocols (MCP) and orchestrating complex AI workflows
• Track record of implementing AI solutions that scale to thousands of concurrent users
• Deep understanding of embedding systems, vector databases, and retrieval optimization
• Comfort working across the entire AI stack – from infrastructure to application layer
