Security Engineer

Modern Treasury is seeking a Security Engineer to strengthen the controls protecting their payment infrastructure and enable secure, compliant financial products. The role involves designing and operating security controls, building automation, and influencing the future of financial infrastructure, and will be integral to growing into new products within the platform. The team is building new products for both traditional and emerging rails.

Requirements

• 7+ years of security engineering experience
• Hands-on expertise with AWS security services
• Strong background reviewing and securing full stack application code (frontend, backend, and APIs)
• Proficiency in secure API design, authentication, and encryption
• Experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform) and CI/CD security (SAST/DAST scanning)
• Payments experience, including fraud prevention, NACHA rules, and risk controls in money movement systems
• Deep understanding of payment processing security across ACH, wires, card networks, and emerging rails
