Montgomery College is seeking to fill two (2) full-time HVAC Mechanic II positions. The positions are located at the Takoma Park/Silver Spring Campus and involve performing skilled HVAC work including installation, operation, modification, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and retrofitting. The positions require a Maryland Journeyman level HVAC license, EPA Universal 608 certification, and a valid driver's license.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED required
- Five years of experience in heating, cooling and ventilation systems
- Comprehensive knowledge of the design, maintenance, repair and use of DDC and HVAC systems
- Comprehensive knowledge of operations and maintenance of buildings and building systems
- Working knowledge of occupational hazards and ability to proficiently and safely use tools and equipment pertinent to the trade
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, control diagrams, HVAC equipment and electrical schematic control wiring diagrams
- Ability to understand material and supply requirements
- Ability to read, understand and follow written, verbal and visual instructions
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively verbally and in writing
- Ability to instruct and train lower-level employees
- Ability to work cooperatively with others
- Basic computer skills including familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), the Internet and Windows-based applications
