Job Description
The Surgical Scheduling Coordinator II at Mount Sinai Health System is responsible for scheduling of DAS and Ambulatory OR surgery/procedures cases on a daily basis, supporting front office operations and ensuring smooth patient flow. This role involves coordinating patient demographics, obtaining pre-authorization for surgical procedures, and participating in process improvement initiatives. They also provide coordination of care between referring physicians and surgeons and training new team members.
Requirements
- Responsibility for scheduling of DAS and Ambulatory OR surgeries/procedures
- Verification of patient demographics
- Obtaining pre-certification for surgical procedures
- Monitoring front office workflow
- Training and mentoring other Surgical Scheduling Coordinator(s) or less senior staff
