The Punch Press Setup/Operator will set up and operate CNC controlled punch presses in a just-in-time fabrication shop, with some assistance provided. The operator may assist other operators as a helper on key work or machines as required.
Requirements
- Strong orientation towards quality, safety and continuous improvement
- Ability to set up and operate both a manual and hydraulic press or punch
- Ability to select correct tooling for the job task with setup documents or supervisor/lead assistance
- Ability to load, install and correctly set up the tools required with some assistance from supervisor/lead
- Ability to perform assigned work to time standards and quality expectations
- Ability to safely operate a forklift to handle materials and completed work
- Ability to make routine decisions and use problem solving to resolve basic manufacturing issues or seek assistance
- Ability to report and document basic material, production and quality control issues
- Ability to maintain performance log books on assigned area equipment and report deficiencies to the maintenance team
- Ability to participate in equipment preventative maintenance at the operator level
- Ability to ensure compliance with corporate and plant safety standards
