Associate Director of Financial Aid Counseling

Lead a student centered financial aid counseling team, ensuring a high level of expertise along with sensitive counseling and problem solving prioritized with each student interaction. Ensures effective planning, positive collaboration across Global Enrollment Management and Student Success (GEMSS), exercises problem solving to support students to enable them to fund their NYU education. Ensures work response is timely and accurate and within service level agreements.

Requirements

• 5+ years relevant professional level experience or equivalent combination
• Bachelor's Degree (Preferred: Master's Degree in related field)
• Experience with financial aid administration, large-scale data processing operations, and staff supervision
• Financial Aid Systems & Compliance: Significant knowledge of Title IV regulations and institutional financial aid processes
• Data Integrity & Security: Must be well-versed in data collection, ensuring the accuracy, adequacy, and legitimacy of all data
• Process Improvement: Proven ability to identify process issues and recommend business practices, technology, or tools to regularly and significantly improve the efficiency and delivery of financial aid services
• Team Leadership & Development: Ability to lead, mentor, and train staff
• Service Assessment & Planning: Demonstrated ability to engage in strategic planning for the financial aid area
• Service & Quality Management: Ability to assess and measure excellent service delivery and customer experience
• Effective Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to organize and present information clearly to diverse audiences
• Impact Monitoring: Ability to monitor the impact of communication efforts, service initiatives, and policy changes to ensure effectiveness and continuous improvement
• Institutional Representation: Demonstrated ability to professionally and effectively represent the institution in all interactions
