- 20 credit hours in Fisheries Science, Wildlife Science, Ecology, Natural Resource Management or Biological Sciences
- Citizenship of the United States of America
- 18 years of age
- Valid driver's license
- Satisfactory completion of police training course
- Ability to pass a Physical Training Assessment
- Ability to establish residence in the approved residency area within 90 days of completion of the Working Test Period
