Job Description
The Jr. Accountant will be responsible for creating and supporting accounting processes, performing balance sheet reconciliations, and assisting with SOX testing. They will also provide support and assistance with audits and communicate with Accounting Managers and controllers for guidance on accounting functions and policies.
Requirements
- Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of period close, required reports, and journal entries
- Create and enter journal entries with supporting backup and file all JEs per policy
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations monthly and analyze all reconciling items on a timely basis to determine root causes and provide corrective actions
- Assist with SOX testing monthly, quarterly and bi-annually
- Prepare SOX-compliant documentation for all activities
- Provide support and assistance with audits (internal, SOX, tax, etc.)
- Communicate with Accounting Managers and controllers for guidance on requests related to accounting functions, policies, and procedures
