Job Description
NV5 is seeking a Senior Level Construction Material Testing Engineer to supervise our Construction Materials Testing and Special Inspection practice in San Diego, CA. The successful candidate should be a registered Civil Engineer in the State of California or have the ability to obtain within 6 months.
Requirements
- BS in civil engineering
- A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience as a Registered PE
- Ability to work as part of a multi discipline team, think creatively and problem solve
- Demonstrated experience with reviewing technical specifications and filed/laboratory reports
- Extensive knowledge of building codes and construction industry standards
- Experience with Caltrans, AASHTO, and ASTM test methods pertaining to construction materials including HMA, aggregate, soils, steel, masonry and concrete
- Experience reviewing concrete/asphalt mix designs
- Experience overseeing materials testing and inspections
- Thorough understanding of accreditation policies for all relevant agencies including Caltrans, DSA, AMRL, CCRL, IAS, etc.
- Proficiency in computer applications including MS Office
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Certifications/Licenses: Registered Civil Engineer (PE) in California
