Job Description
ORNL is seeking a Senior Linux HPC Storage Engineer to design, operate, and maintain clusters, servers, and workstations storage supporting various research projects. This role involves architecting, deploying, and optimizing HPC storage systems, ensuring high availability and performance, and collaborating with research teams to support large data workflows. The ideal candidate will align with ORNL’s values of Impact, Integrity, Teamwork, Safety, and Service.
Requirements
- Architect, deploy, and manage large-scale HPC storage systems.
- Design, implement, and operate large-scale Ceph storage clusters.
- Administer and optimize enterprise storage platforms (Qumulo, NetApp).
- Design, deploy, and maintain archival storage solutions (Spectra Logic BlackPearl).
- Integrate storage layers into tiered storage architectures.
- Leverage automation and monitoring solutions.
- Collaborate with researchers and technical POCs.
- Automate storage provisioning, monitoring, and maintenance.
- Diagnose and resolve storage and I/O-related issues.
