Principal Power Systems Engineer

AspenTech is seeking a Principal Power Systems Engineer to design, plan, integrate, test and commission software applications for Advanced Distribution Management Systems (ADMS) and Outage Management Systems (OMS) for utility clients.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical field experience.
• Minimum 8 years of experience project engineering/ similar Application Engineering role; high level of experience troubleshooting complex systems and software applications.
• Knowledge of system designs, computer systems, engineering practices, and control systems.
• Understanding of Electric Distribution Power Systems and modelling is preferred (Load Flow Studies, Coordination Studies, Arc Flash Studies)
• Master’s degree in Power Systems Engineering or related field.
• Programming and scripting experience (C/python)
• Database and data structure knowledge and experience (SQL, XML, Mongo, GIS)
• Operations or engineering experience at an electric utility.
• Industry experience with Outage Management Systems (OMS)
• Strong communication skill, both verbally and written.
• Proven ability to organize and prioritize work within tight timelines.
