The Senior Power Systems Engineer II will lead key technical elements of customer projects focused on Energy Management Systems (EMS) and Generation Management Systems (GMS). The role combines deep power systems knowledge, customer interaction, and hands-on system integration.
Requirements
- Graduate in Electrical Engineering or Electrical & Electronics engineering / Post-graduate in Power Systems or related discipline is desirable.
- 4+ years work experience in Power System Analysis and Energy Management Systems or adjacent experience in utility software, SCADA, or real-time grid control.
- Strong understanding of electric utility operations and control room use cases.
- Experience with electrical utility control systems (SCADA, EMS, GMS, DMS, OMS, DERMS) or experience working in utility operations or engineering support is good to have.
- Understanding of object oriented programming concepts with development using C# or Python along with basic – intermediate understanding of SQL is good to have.
- Experience with network modelling and simulation tools such as PSSE, PowerFactory, ETAP or similar is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of databases and data warehousing.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to lead technical discussions.
- Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple projects in parallel.
- Flexibility to travel as needed for customer engagement.
- Ability to lead a team and act as a mentor for team members.
- Power System Studies / Software knowledge of Transmission/Generation systems.
- Energy Management System (EMS) – State Estimation, Power flow, Contingency Analysis, Optimal Power Flow, Transient Stability, Voltage Stability.
- Generation Management system (GMS) - Automatic Generation Control (AGC), Load and Generation Forecasting, Unit Commitment.
- Power System Operation and Control.
- Basic Knowledge of C# or Python.
- Project Planning and Technical Coordination.
- Excellent Communication Skills.
