Job Description
OpenAI is seeking a Data Scientist to join the Intelligence & Investigations team. This role focuses on measuring complex human-AI behavior at scale using policy-grounded baselines, confidence intervals, and attribution. The data scientist will define measurement frameworks, build reporting surfaces, clean data, and drive safety strategy through detailed narratives and metrics. This involves collaborating with teams in Safety Systems, Data Science, Product, and Policy.
Requirements
- 3–6+ years in data science, measurement/causal inference, or risk analytics
- Strong in sampling, inference, uncertainty quantification, and rare-event estimation
- Write solid Python and SQL; are fluent with data warehouses and productionizing notebooks/pipelines
- Communicate crisply to drive decisions
- Experience with Airflow or other ETL pipelines is a plus
