Senior Applied Scientist - Gen AI

Oracle Healthcare Data Intelligence (HDI) is seeking a Senior Applied Scientist to build and optimize AI models for healthcare challenges. The role involves fine-tuning language models, evaluating models, and collaborating with product and engineering teams to enhance clinical decision-making and data insights. This is a hands-on role in applying Generative AI and NLP to solve complex problems in healthcare.

Requirements

• PhD in Computer Science, NLP, Machine Learning, or a related field
• Master’s degree with 4+ years of relevant experience
• Experience training or fine-tuning LLMs or small language models
• Familiarity with retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), LangChain, or similar tools
• Hands-on experience applying AI/ML in healthcare
• Strong understanding of machine learning, NLP, and deep learning techniques
• Comfort working with Python, TensorFlow/PyTorch, and open-source LLM tools
• Good communication skills and ability to collaborate across technical teams
