Job Description
Design Engineering Team Lead – Geartrain at Pratt Miller, an Oshkosh company. Lead design engineering efforts using CAD and FEA tools, develop timing plans and task tracking, risk mitigation focused on project deliverables. Responsible for the career development of a team of design engineers.
Requirements
- Lead design engineering efforts using CAD and FEA tools
- Develop timing plans and task tracking
- Risk mitigation focused on project deliverables
- Responsible for the career development of a team of design engineers
- Experience in prototype and production gearbox/transmission design and manufacturing
- Knowledgeable in gear, spline, and shaft design, material selection, heat treating, and manufacturing
- Formal technical reporting on project status to the customer
- System and component design using parametric CAD tools
- System and component modeling using Finite Element Analysis tools
- CAE optimization methods and tools
- Lead system level modeling and simulations efforts
- Working level background in MS Word, Excel, MS Project, and PowerPoint required
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong technical writing, team leadership skills, and organizational skills
