The Partnership for Los Angeles Schools is seeking a Secondary Math Coach to join their mission to improve learning and academic achievement for students in the Boyle Heights, South Los Angeles, and Watts communities. The Coach will work with teachers to develop and implement Math instruction aligned with Common Core standards, and collaborate with school administrators to support effective instruction.
Requirements
- A proven record of academic success working with students in historically underserved schools
- At least 5 years of full-time teaching experience in grades 6-12
- 2 years of school leadership experience (coaching, teacher leader, department chair, BTSA coach, peer observer, etc.)
- Bachelor’s degree and teaching credential are required, and a master’s degree or other advanced degree is preferred
- Experience designing, leading, and facilitating professional development for adult learners
- Deep working knowledge of Math Common Core state standards as well as Instructional Shifts for Math
