The Senior Network Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring the stability, performance, and security of the organization's network infrastructure. This position is responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting complex network solutions that meet evolving business and operational needs.
Requirements
- Designs, implements, and supports complex network infrastructure solutions to ensure high availability, performance, and security across all organizational locations.
- Serves as a technical escalation point for advanced network issues, providing expert-level troubleshooting and resolution.
- Monitors and analyzes network performance, identifying opportunities for optimization and proactively addressing potential issues.
- Provides technical leadership and mentorship to network and infrastructure team members, elevating skillsets and reinforcing engineering best practices.
- May serve as a technical lead and supervise a small team of engineers.
- Collaborates with IT Leadership and cross-functional IT teams—including voice, server, and security—to deliver integrated and secure infrastructure solutions.
- Leads, and is responsible for, the design, development, validation, and execution of disaster recovery and business continuity plans related to network infrastructure.
- Engineers and maintains network redundancy, failover, and load balancing to support high availability and minimize downtime.
- Champions and implements automation initiatives to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual tasks.
- Responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date documentation of network configurations, standards, and procedures.
- Participates in infrastructure projects as lead networking SME, providing technical leadership and ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Supports the evaluation and implementation of new networking technologies and tools.
- Leads, manages, and participates in after-hours support and on-call rotations to ensure continuous 24/7 network reliability.
- Travels by air and/or ground transportation to Partnership locations as needed to support local network installations, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
