The Medical Technologist/Medical Laboratory Technician is responsible for specimen collection, handling, and processing, as well as test analyses, reporting, and maintaining records of test results. The role also involves adhering to safety policies, providing customer service, and fostering teamwork.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Keyboarding experience required
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- One year of clerical experience preferred
- One year of clinical experience preferred
- Minimum 60 semester hours from a regionally accredited college, including chemistry, biology, and medical laboratory techniques
- Completion of clinical rotations in the areas of microbiology, urinalysis, chemistry and hematology
- Fifty week military Medical Laboratory Procedures course and meet qualifications for military enlisted occupational specialty of “Medical Laboratory Specialist”
