The supervisor is the active interface between management and the work force on the plant floor. Supervisors interact and communicate with others, coordinating activities and resources on the plant floor.
Requirements
- Execute the manufacturing schedule based on customer specifications, requirements and delivery dates.
- Help control product quality through training.
- Provide performance feedback including competency logs and performance reviews.
- Provide needed tools and materials to workers.
- Issue discipline to employees when necessary.
- Operate forklift and/or spot for forklift driver.
- Utilize handheld and power tools such as screwdrivers and hand-drills.
- Work with Quality department to ensure the product meets quality standards.
- Keep the work area safe, neat, and clean.
- Perform work in a safe and healthy manner; ensuring there are no deviations to standard work instructions that could lead to quality, productivity or safety problems.
- Identify and communicate ideas to team leaders that support improving the team’s performance and the elimination of waste.
- Participate in process improvement activities.
- Display professional conduct with customers and coworkers.
- Attend training sessions as needed or required.
