Job Description
The Material Planner is responsible for the planning, scheduling, and procurement of material from suppliers to meet customer needs and maintain production downtime. This is a tactical position requiring forecasting, inventory management, and strong supplier relations. The role involves identifying and resolving supply chain issues and ensuring timely delivery of materials.
Requirements
- BA/BS degree or 5+ years minimum planner/buyer manufacturing experience
- APICS (CPIM) or equivalent certification preferred
- Computer proficient with ERP and Microsoft Office applications
- Basic mathematical skills
- Experience with rate based or flow line (non-MRP) and job shop manufacturing environments
- Experience with operations, inventory management, MRP and lean manufacturing processes
- Experience with visual management systems
