Registered Nurse

Registered Nurses are responsible for planning and providing delivery of optimal patient care at Planned Parenthood Western Pennsylvania. They will work on-site in Pittsburgh and will be responsible for various nursing tasks including administering medications, inserting IVs, and supervising the recovery room.

Requirements

• Ability to perform nursing tasks with or without reasonable accommodation
• Inspection of emergency equipment each clinic morning
• Administration of medications
• Insertion of IVs and hep-locks
• Supervision of recovery room
• Assessment and admission of patients
• Documentation of patient information
• Communication with lab and physician
• Performing sonograms
• Assisting in emergency care delivery
• Monitoring expiration dates on medications and equipment
• Training staff to perform blood pressure and emergency equipment
• Auditing medical record documentation
• Participation in centralized patient referral and follow-up process
• Knowledge of and participation in the PPWP Risk and Quality Management Program and the PPWP Patient Safety Program, Child Abuse Reporting Policy
