As a Mechanic, you will train to perform all requirements of the appropriate Mechanical Job Classification job under the close direction and/or instruction of personnel that are more experienced or a supervisor.
Requirements
- Troubleshoot, repair, adjust, and maintain plant production and/or plant service equipment
- Use prints, drawings, oral communication or observations of machine/equipment malfunction to determine the probable source of failure or service requirements
- Disassemble equipment and replace or repair defective parts, reassemble and make necessary adjustments to attain specified operating results
- Perform lubrication, preventative maintenance, and periodic operation checks on assigned equipment as instructed
- Maintain and repair all material handling equipment
- Follow all safety procedures such as LOTO, confined space, ladder safety, fall protection, hot work permits, hydraulic safety, lift truck and aerial lift operation
- Follow all applicable installation codes such as NFPA, NEC, ASME, ANSI, OSHA, etc.
- Operate lathes, shears, drill presses and milling machines
- Become trained in the operation of powered mobile equipment to facilitate movement, placement, and/or repair of equipment at walk speed or less
- Maintain orderliness and cleanliness of assigned area(s), machines, tools and equipment
- Always observe company policies and procedures
- Perform each phase of the operation in full compliance with all company, state, and/or federal safety and environmental regulations
