The Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager is responsible for supporting the development, implementation, and maintenance of a comprehensive risk management program that strives to exceed regulatory compliance requirements across multiple locations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental health and safety or related field of study
- Minimum of five (5) to seven (7) years of relevant experience in EHS compliance within a manufacturing environment
- Prior experience as a technical trainer/instructor is highly preferred
- Professional EHS certifications, including Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Industrial Hygienist (CIH), and/or other related safety certifications, are strongly preferred
- Ability to interpret regulations and implement requirements in the work environment
- Knowledge and broad technical background with federal and state regulations (OSHA, RCRA, DOT, DEC)
- Ability to analyze information, develop and deliver training programs, adapt policies, create reporting, and have proven progressive experience to offer recommendations for continuous improvement
- Proven skill set with a variety of computer and software programs, including PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook, and others.
- An ability to present information effectively to diverse audiences and stakeholders while responding to questions from groups of managers, employees, and the leadership team
- Proven leadership, teamwork, and flexibility to manage changes in projects and priorities
- Ability to write reports and procedural manuals
- Exceptional public speaking skills
- Superior communication skills
- Ability to manage complex projects and multitask effectively
- Excellent follow-through
- Must have manufacturing and fabrication experience that includes welding, cutting, and grinding.
