Job Description
We are looking for a Staff Backend Engineer to join our Core Platform Engineering team in a hybrid role! The ideal candidate is experienced and passionate about building products and systems that make a meaningful impact on the lives of thousands of people and their health.
Requirements
- Deep experience in backend engineering (typically 10+ years)
- Proficiency in Python (FastAPI, Flask) and building scalable, production-grade systems on AWS
- Expertise in CI/CD (GitHub Actions, CircleCI) and modern DevOps workflows
- Proven experience evolving systems from monoliths to microservices (REST, GraphQL, event-driven)
- Strong foundation in data design (Postgres, DynamoDB, or similar)
- A thoughtful, security-first approach — especially with PII or healthcare data
- Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, especially in ambiguous environments
