Job Description
PTC is a leading company transforming the world by bringing the physical and digital worlds together. The company is looking for a Principal Engineer to design and develop high-performance Java solutions for the Onshape SaaS platform.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience building distributed, data-intensive systems using Java and NoSQL databases like MongoDB
- Deep expertise in Java and its ecosystem, with strong foundations in computer science fundamentals, including algorithms and data structures
- Proven experience developing multi-tenant backend systems, RESTful APIs, and services using Java, Spring Framework, and MongoDB
- Strong skills in troubleshooting, debugging, and performance tuning in cloud-native environments
- Experience building solutions for enterprise customers, addressing complex needs around security, delegation, and collaboration
- Demonstrated ability to mentor and support junior engineers through code reviews, coaching, and technical training
- Ability to lead the design and implementation of complex software systems, ensuring high-quality code and adherence to best practices
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience, with a solid grasp of data structures, algorithms, and software engineering principles
