Local Transmission System Planning Engineer II

Puget Sound Energy is seeking a Local Transmission System Planning Engineer II to join their team. The successful candidate will perform studies and analyses to identify electric transmission system needs, develop infrastructure projects, and ensure compliance with NERC Reliability Standards. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor of Science degree or PE license in electrical, mechanical, civil or other appropriate engineering field, and 3 or more years of experience in planning, design, specification preparation, technical field work, project cost estimating and scheduling.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree or PE license in electrical, mechanical, civil or other appropriate engineering field
• Experience in planning, design, specification preparation, technical field work, project cost estimating and scheduling
• Organization, documentation, prioritization, and project management skills
• Experience working with both internal and external customers on projects
• Familiar with codes and equipment utilized in the design and operation of utility systems
• Experience with coordinating external consultants in the execution of a project
• Possession of EIT certificate and ability to acquire PE license
• Knowledge of engineering economics and utility accounting practices
