Job Description
Southern Electric Corporation is seeking to hire a full-time Apprentice Level 1 to 4 for Flowood, MS. This role involves assisting experienced Linemen and Foreman in energized secondary work, primary framing, and bucket truck operation, focusing on learning safe electrical practices. The position offers an opportunity for growth within a reputable company.
Requirements
- Proper use of aerial lifts, (Bucket truck)
- Basic aerial lift
- Material handlers
- Secondary connections
- Phasing or paralleling secondary circuits
- Taking voltage, amperage, or resistance readings on secondary circuits
- Tying/attaching conductors to insulators on de-energized circuits
- Sagging secondaries and services
- Dead-ending and clipping services and secondary conductors
- Assisting lineman with de-energized transformer connections
- Working from pole or bucket
- Testing de-energized primary lines, tag, and apply protective grounds
- De-energized primary framing and hardware installation
- Hanging crossarms from the pole
- Drilling and fastening with impact (hydraulic) tools
- Using hand powered crimping tools
