Job Description
Aspen Utility Company is seeking a skilled Fiber Splicer to join their telecommunications construction team. The role involves splicing and troubleshooting fiber optic cables in aerial and underground environments, ensuring high-quality connectivity for residential, commercial, and municipal projects. This is a full-time position with shifts including day and night shifts, and on-call availability is required.
Requirements
- Perform fusion and mechanical splicing of fiber optic cables.
- Conduct OTDR, power meter, and light source testing to verify cable integrity.
- Interpret and work from network schematics, blueprints, and splice diagrams.
- Install and maintain fiber optic systems in aerial and underground settings.
- Troubleshoot and repair damaged fiber systems.
- Maintain accurate records of splicing activities and test results.
