Job Description
The Instrument Processing Technician works under the direction of the Sterile Processing Manager to handle, clean, disinfect, assemble, and sterilize instrumentation and patient-related equipment in a sterile processing department. This role involves monitoring sterilization records, maintaining sterility, performing decontamination, and transporting instrumentation. The technician will ensure instruments are ready for use in the Operating Room.
Requirements
- High school diploma/equivalent
- Associate degree program or higher
- Prior experience as a central service technician in a sterile processing department
- Successful completion of sterilization, decontamination, and instrumentation competencies within 6 months of hire
