Job Description
The Endoscopy Technician plays a critical role in assisting healthcare professionals during endoscopic procedures, ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of endoscopy equipment and supporting the medical team in providing exceptional patient care.
Requirements
- Prepare and set up the endoscopy room, ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are available and in working order.
- Assist healthcare professionals in performing endoscopic procedures by providing technical support and maintaining a sterile field.
- Clean, disinfect, and sterilize endoscopy equipment, ensuring compliance with infection control protocols.
- Retrieve and process specimens for laboratory analysis, ensuring proper documentation and storage.
- Maintain accurate and complete patient records, including documentation of procedures performed, and any complications or adverse events.
- Assist with patient positioning and comfort during endoscopic procedures, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Monitor patients during procedures, promptly reporting any changes in their condition to the healthcare team.
- Assist with the troubleshooting and maintenance of endoscopy equipment, coordinating repairs when necessary.
