Manufacturing Engineer II

We are seeking a Senior Packaging Engineer to provide unique packaging designs and engineering in support of purchased parts and assemblies, manufacturing processes and finished product outbound to our customers.

Requirements

• Developing thoughtful, effective and innovative packaging solutions to support the preservation and safe shipment of all hardware.
• Creating packaging designs using CREO 3D CAD, including: Protective cushioned packs, Corrugated structures, Wood crates and assemblies, Vacuum formed plastic.
• Initiating cost reductions and process improvements, Teaming with Mission Assurance, Test Engineering and Operations Personnel along with Traffic, Safety and EHS to ensure deliverables are achieved on time and with value.
• Create and update work instructions to ensure all technical requirements are captured and met for assembly.
• Perform Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Action when defects occur.
• Planning, coordinating and executing Package Performance testing using ASTM D 4169 and/or International Safe Transit Association (ISTA) protocol
• Developing and maintaining special packaging instructions and drawings meeting Military and Best Commercial standards.
• Proactively undertake safety initiatives including job hazard analysis and ergonomic assessments.
