Sacramento Behavioral Healthcare Hospital is a comprehensive mental health hospital offering inpatient services at various levels of care. Sacramento Behavioral Healthcare Hospital (SBHH) is a new facility located near downtown Sacramento. As the first newly constructed psychiatric hospital in Northern California in more than 30 years, this hospital offers 117 inpatient acute psychiatric beds, an outpatient treatment center, and a procedures clinic providing electro-convulsive therapy (ECT) and other interventional psychiatry services. We offer a full range of individualized treatment services, adults, and senior adults, including treatment for mental health and co-occurring (mental health and substance abuse) disorders. Additional services include mental health and substance abuse screening, assessment, crisis intervention, consultation, education, and individual and group counseling.
Job Description
A psychiatrist is needed to provide clinical oversight and manage patients, diagnosing mental disorders, and prescribing medications within a free-standing psychiatric hospital. The position focuses on assessment, treatment, and collaboration with other healthcare professionals. This role requires compassion, experience, and adherence to a rigorous clinical process.
Requirements
- Completion of a psychiatric residency in an ACGME approved residency program
- Valid CA medical license (Psychiatrist)
- Board certified or board eligible
- Valid DEA certificate
- 2 years’ experience working full-time as a psychiatrist
- Competency restoration and/or forensics experience preferred
