Senior Software Engineer II

Samsara is a company focused on improving the safety, efficiency, and sustainability of the physical operations of global industries. They are seeking a Senior Software Engineer II to join their Developer Ecosystem team, focusing on the development of their high-throughput, real-time Eventing platform. This role involves leading the architectural vision for key components like API and eventing technologies, mentoring engineers, and driving the company's long-term technical roadmap.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in Software Engineering
• Deep expertise in designing, building, and operating high-throughput data streaming systems using Kafka or similar eventing technologies
• Demonstrable experience with serverless compute architectures, such as AWS Lambda, and an understanding of their associated design patterns and trade-offs
• Strong experience in designing, building, and maintaining large-scale, public-facing APIs, with a preference for GraphQL
• At least 5 years of experience with managed event streaming platforms
• Experience with cloud data warehousing solutions (e.g., Snowflake)
• Minimum 8+ years of experience in Software Engineering
