Controls Engineer

Samtec, Inc. is seeking a Controls Engineer to design, implement, and support control systems for advanced manufacturing equipment. This role involves oversight of all controls-related aspects, from initial scoping to commissioning and long-term support. The Controls Engineer is expected to deliver reliable, sustainable, and scalable solutions.

Requirements

• 5 years of direct experience as a controls engineer.
• Operational knowledge of servo motors, stepper motors, motion controllers, temperature controllers, pneumatic controls, control relays, sensors, operator interfaces, etc.
• Motion Controller programming experience.
• PLC programming experience.
• Understanding of PID loop control and tuning.
• Experience reading and developing electrical schematics.
• Experience with common industrial, IoT, and motion bus protocols.
• Familiarity with machine safety applications, electrical power distribution, and control panel design.
