Requirements

• Understand weld symbols.
• Read, interpret, and follow blueprints and sketches.
• Efficiently and safely perform welding tasks using various welding processes.
• Proper use of weld measurement tools and gauges.
• Thorough knowledge of metal characteristics.
• Inspection of welds for conformance to specifications.
• Complete carbon steel, aluminum, and stainless steel fillet and butt weld certifications.
• Stainless steel, Cupro-Nickel, and carbon steel pipe welds (6G)
• Self-assessment of quality of work
• Maintenance of welding equipment.
• Structural welding on ship components.
• Grinding, cutting, torching, pick up work.
• Weld fit-up and tacking
• Work in various positions, including overhead, vertical, and flat
• Inspect all equipment daily.
• Follow shipyard safety policies.
