Job Description
Savan is seeking an FOIA Analyst to support the Department of Commerce in processing and managing Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and Privacy Act requests.
Requirements
- Process and respond to FOIA and Privacy Act requests
- Review responsive records and apply appropriate FOIA exemptions and Privacy Act provisions
- Draft acknowledgment letters, interim responses, and final determination letters
- Track, monitor, and update the status of FOIA cases
- Support backlog reduction efforts
- Provide oral and written responses to inquiries
- Conduct quality control reviews of records and correspondence
- Assist in the preparation of reports for senior leadership
- Remain current on evolving FOIA and Privacy Act guidance, regulations, and trends
