Employee Health Nurse

Employee Health Nurse position responsible for maintaining up-to-date knowledge of Employee Health practices and standards, developing and implementing policies and procedures, and providing age-appropriate care across pediatric, geriatric, and general populations.

Requirements

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Employee Health practices and standards
• Develop, review, and revise Employee Health policies and procedures
• Implement systems to identify, investigate, report, and prevent staff injuries and exposures
• Maintain accurate and confidential Employee Health records
• Assist with in-service education and training related to Employee Health
• Conduct special studies and propose improvements to Employee Health programs
• Review and obtain approval for Employee Health Manual policies every two years
• Promote a culture of patient safety
• Utilize Culture of Safety survey responses in improvement efforts
• Identify risks and hazards to patients through various risk assessments
• Improve medication safety practices
• Decrease hospital-acquired infections and improve compliance with infection control practices
• Adhere to facility dress code and maintain a neat and professional appearance
• Maintain compliance with regulatory and organizational policies
• Uphold confidentiality of patient and employee information
• Reports to work on time and wears proper identification while on duty
• Attend annual reviews and required committee meetings
• Conduct staff in-services related to Employee Health
• Maintain open communication with all departments
• Independently prioritize and initiate duties and appropriate actions
• Participate in performance improvement activities
• Actively engage in continuing education and professional development
• Represent the facility positively and professionally
• Communicate and support the mission, ethics, and goals of the facility
• Comply with ethical business practices
