The Logistics Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing all inbound and outbound logistics activities, including transportation, shipping, and receiving operations. This role ensures the efficient movement of goods, compliance with regulations, cost control, and the effective supervision of logistics personnel to support overall operational goals.
Requirements
- Manage activities related to incoming material shipments, incoming OSF orders, and transfer orders to and from SAPS facilities
- Oversee daily transportation activities, including carrier coordination, routing, and scheduling
- Oversee inbound and outbound freight to ensure on-time, accurate deliveries
- Monitor freight costs and implement cost-saving initiatives
- Oversee compliance with DOT, safety, and company transportation policies
- Oversee shipping and receiving operations to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and proper documentation
- Coordinate with warehouse and operations teams to align inventory flow and production schedules
- Resolve discrepancies related to shipments, damages, or shortages
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and movement of materials
- Supervise employees and train them as needed
- Promote a safe work environment and monitor activities in Shipping/Material Handling Department and OSF areas
- Monitor upcoming shipment report to ensure product is delivered on time
- Follow ISO policies and procedures as required
