Infrastructure Architect

Scotiabank is seeking an Infrastructure Architect to design and implement systems, infrastructure patterns, and standards that support their evolving business requirements. This role will focus on database platforms, middleware technologies, application servers, and message brokers across on-premise and cloud environments, aligning with security and architectural standards. The candidate will lead architectural discussions, develop technical documentation, and participate in review boards.

Requirements

• 5+ years of progressive experience in infrastructure architecture, including hybrid cloud and on-premise environments.
• Strong understanding of infrastructure automation, monitoring, and operational best practices.
• 5+ years of experience in enterprise database architecture, including relational (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL) and cloud-native databases (Azure SQL, Cloud Spanner, BigQuery).
• Expertise in database high availability, disaster recovery, replication, and performance tuning.
• Experience with database modernization, migration strategies, and cloud adoption.
• 5+ years of experience designing and implementing middleware platforms such as Red Hat JBOSS, WebLogic, WebSphere, Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar.
• Deep knowledge of middleware integration patterns, service orchestration, and message queuing systems.
