This is a full-time Equipment Operator I position for a Yard team at Seaboard Marine in Miami, Florida. The job involves operating heavy equipment for terminal operations, staging equipment, and discharging for ships. The position requires experience driving heavy equipment and a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Requirements
- Must have two (2) years of experience driving one or more of the following heavy equipment: mule jockey, 52k Forklift, Empty Handler, or Top loader or a CDL-A license with one (1) year of experience operating heavy equipment.
- A valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
- Must have successfully completed on-the-job training and received certification to operate the large 30k/52k forklift, mule/yard jockey, or top loader/empty handler.
- Must be able to safely and efficiently handle heavy containerized, palletized, or loose cargoes in a high volume, fast paced environment.
- Must possess basic computer skills.
- Ability to communicate (read, write, and speak) in Basic English.
- Must be able to accurately process alpha/numeric information.
- Ability to work extended hours, weekends, holidays, as needed.
- Ability to work with limited supervision and strong initiative.
- Organizational and time management skills.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills.
- Ability to deal effectively, establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers, vendors and fellow employees.
- Ability to think logically and follow procedures and instructions.
- Must have or be able to obtain a TWIC card within 30 days of employment.
- Hazmat Training and additional endorsements are preferred.
