Job Description
Victoria Shipyards is recruiting Metal Fabricator/Shipfitter Apprentices to work with ferrous and non-ferrous metals, fabricating steel components for shipbuilding. Apprentices will help with fabrication, repair, and modification of steel parts for a variety of applications, and will be directed by supervisors and mentors. Seaspan emphasizes health, safety, and environmental standards.
Requirements
- Minimum Grade 12 Education
- Completion of Metal Fabricator Foundation Program in B.C.
- Prior trade experience (2 years minimum)
- CWB certification considered an asset
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work in enclosed/confined spaces
