Senior Accountant

Southern Farm Bureau Casualty Insurance Company is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their team. The company offers a great work environment and a rich benefit package. The Senior Accountant will assist in preparing financial statements, tax returns, and accounting reports.

Requirements

• Prepare monthly, quarterly and year end statements and financial reports
• Perform accounting and related reporting for the Investment portfolio(s)
• Reconcile daily cash transactions and maintain accurate records of all cash transactions in the ledger
• Assist in the budgeting process by providing variance analysis
• Participate in the testing of internal controls for compliance with NAIC Model Audit Rule standards
• Facilitate communication between departments and Accounting to resolve challenges crossing departmental lines
• Remain up to date with industry issues and developments which may have direct impact on the department or the organization as a whole
• Participate in the development and implementation of Accounting systems when and where requested
• Act as Supervisor for Accounting employees when and where requested
