Shrub Oak International School is seeking a Part Time Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to support the holistic well-being, care, and treatment of our students. The ideal candidate will have a graduate degree in mental health nursing, a minimum of 1 year of experience as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, and strong interpersonal and consultative skills.
Requirements
- Must be a licensed PMHNP (Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner) with a graduate degree in mental health nursing;
- Active licenses in good standing required;
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in pediatric/adult psychiatry;
- Strong interpersonal and consultative skills, with the ability to clearly and concisely express ideas both orally and in writing to diverse clients, professionals, parents, and groups;
- Professional and executive presence, capable of representing the school effectively when speaking to both large and small groups;
- Demonstrated cultural awareness and sensitivity;
- Proactive in recognizing issues or problems and selecting appropriate solutions, often quickly, in fast-paced, changing circumstances;
- Ability to thrive in a high-volume, fast-paced environment while managing multiple demands and shifting priorities;
- Computer proficiency with a solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office and other software, and the ability to learn to navigate internal database management software;
- Experience in a boarding school environment, particularly with both domestic and international students;
- Experience in special education or residential school settings, particularly with students requiring psychiatric support and stabilization;
- Experience working with individuals on the autism spectrum or with developmental disabilities;
- Experience in handling complex medical, emotional, and psychological situations with a holistic approach, aiming for sustained improvement, well-being, and regulation;
