Requirements
- Documentation Review – Identify and resolve inconsistencies, ambiguities, or discrepancies that may lead to inaccurate coding or affect quality patient care.
- Code Assignment – Accurately assign Evaluation and Management (E&M) codes, Current Procedural Terminology (CPT), Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System (HCPCS); includes utilization of modifiers and units of service, and International Classification of Diseases, Clinical Modification (ICD-CM) diagnoses codes based on medical record documentation for outpatient encounters;
- System Utilization – Utilize THE Military Health System (MHS) Genesis systems to remotely access patient records and assign codes for patient encounters.
- Productivity and Standards – Achieve and maintain hourly coding productivity and 97% accuracy standards for the position.
